BADD

This past Sunday, March 29th, I was invited by my local doll club BADD (Bay Area Doll Divas/Divos) to do a presentation on my OOAK Barbies. I worked many long hours the last couple of weeks to make sure I had a good number of 'girls' to show off. The dolls up in the case are a selection of OOAKs & reroots now residing in the collections of BADD members...

I would like to thank you for being so creative. I collect Barbie dolls and I've always loved them since I was a child. I began collecting them a year and a half ago and I like to look for up and coming dolls when I came across the WEG website. Your creations are amazing! I think you have talent that designers and artists at mattel haven't even topped. What makes you stand out is that you can create an image in your head and transform an already amazing doll into something even more beautiful. I love your color choices and patterns for the era in which you style the dolls. What makes me love your dolls even more is that you use the Barbie doll as a base and strip it clean to make it look the way you want and yet it still has the Barbie feel to it. Mattel should love artists like you because my friends that don't even care for Barbie dolls found your work truly amazing. I hope to one day own one of your dolls so that I can add it to my collection with the pride that it's still a Barbie but in many ways done better!
